    Murrayween Family Halloween Costumes

Family Halloween Costumes are so competitive and fun. If you don’t get your costumes in July or August you will be scrambling to find your costumes in October. In this post I will share the beautiful pictures I was able to capture with my g-nephews and daughter. This year we decided to be, “The Nerd Family.” I was inspired by my cousin who dressed up as a Nerd a few years ago for her Halloween party. Since we already produce the best selling Nerd apparel it was an easy decision. Oftentimes the word Nerd get a negative connotation. At SmArtBoyTees we love to support and embrace our smart community. Bringing…

Camping and hiking trip the Appalachian Trail

In April 2019 when we visited my son’s school for a tour we learned that one of the graduation requirements is completing a camping and hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail. I immediately wanted to leave the tour. Five days in the forest camping in tents and hiking 50 miles where bears live no way! Many questions were being asked and little did we know the pandemic would interrupt the trip the following year. In this post I’m going to share what we had to do to prepare for this camping and hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail. The Director was very clear about the boys fulfilling this requirement. No…

    Red Outfit Ideas

Happy March and Women’s Herstory Month! Spring is steadily moving upon us and I can’t wait to break into spring colors. Last month I continued my wardrobe color theme challenge on Instagram. The focus color was red. In this post I will share my red outfit ideas. This post contains affiliate links I was a little hesitant to select red as the theme color because red can be extremely bold and loud. However, I’m glad I followed through with it because I received a lot of positive feedback on the red outfit ideas. Red is typically associated with love, warning, stop, Marilyn Monroe or red lip stick. Red demands attention…

    Meals for Teenagers

I don’t know about you guys but trying to feed a teenager and tween in my house is giving me anxiety. They are the most pickiest eaters on the planet. But I’m not giving up, I’m going to try and share 4 to 5 meals for teenagers that work for the most part in my house. Are you ready let’s go! During the holiday break my daughter randomly asked if she could cook spaghetti. I asked, are you serious? And she said, yes! So our number one meal for teenagers is Spaghetti. I have to admit I was extremely proud of her. She asked questions and followed through on the…

    Weekend Family Getaway

Can we say summer is officially over? Well typically after Labor Day the carpet is rolled up and it’s on to preparing for Halloween and Thanksgiving. But because we didn’t get to hang out at the beach often this summer or visit Martha’s Vineyard, we decided on a weekend family getaway. What’s more fun than hanging out with your family. If my kids had it their way they‘ll stay home playing video games and hanging out with their friends (teenagers). We are typically last minute planners. I usually have it planned in my head but to execute, it’s usually at the 9th hour. I knew I wanted to go to…

    Backyard Pictures

Quarantine has us being pretty creative at home. My neighbor had movie night in the backyard. Then there’s virtual parties online or drive by celebrations. When I purchased these cute dresses from Target I knew I wanted to do something fun with my daughter so I decided backyard pictures. I figured I’ll create a garden party theme and we’ll have brunch on the grass. It wasn’t an easy task keeping the bugs away but we managed to make it happen. I grabbed a blanket, some throw pillows, (you must have a furry one) beach hat, mason jar mugs, charger plates, a scented candle, mirror with string lights, and center pieces.…

    Denim & Twinning

How’s everyone doing? I hope this blog post find you safe and well. We must constantly check in with each other due to COVID-19. We are living history, the whole nation closing schools, the workforce being shut down …. WHOA Spring is here and we should be out and about but unfortunately we are stuck in for our own safety. Well the first week we were encouraged to stay home I immediately set out that Saturday to take photos for content. I thought it would be the perfect time with less people traffic. I also managed to have a mini shoot with my mini me. The Process I woke up…

    A Day in Brooklyn

Well Murray friends summer is coming to a end but it’s not quite over “Until the Fat Lady Sings.” We are going out with a Bang! No we really aren’t it just sound good. We like to take every opportunity there is to get out and do something. Sometimes something means doing nothing but it’s all good. What am I talking about? IDK just pretend I do. This post is not sponsored Two weeks ago we ventured out to Brooklyn to support my husband’s friend Carl. At the Fairway in Red Hook Brooklyn, he’s selling the “Best Fish Sandwich in the World.” They are called “Fyros” and they come in…

    The Murray’s Summer Getaway

For the past three years we have made it a tradition to visit Martha’s Vineyard. Growing up I’ve always heard of this place typically from The Kennedy’s and most recently The Obama’s visiting, I never thought it would be a destination I would fall in love with. My husband was invited to visit for the African American Film Festival week in August 2015. I contacted a co-worker because I knew she was from Massachusetts and her family had a home on the island. Jaz provided me with guidance on traveling to the island ….. Thanks Jaz!! It was right on point I found a hotel in Middleboro, checked the hotline…
