    It was a Celebration

Last week The Murray’s celebrated their Princess Sadiah’s 10th Birthday a wonderful milestone. I can’t believe 10 years have gone by so fast. I remember my sister and I struggling to secure her in the car seat at the hospital. It took us about 20 minutes, we were sweating it was insane. Now my sister she had an excuse because she hadn’t dealt with a car seat in about 18 years, me on the other hand it had only been 4 years. After what felt like a hour we finally figured out we had to slant the buckle into the slot …. Rocket Scientist!! My brother of course was clueless…

3 Things I Would Like To Do This Summer

Hey guys I was watching NJTV this past weekend and there was a series of episodes called “10 that Changed America” which inspired my list of things to do this summer. You should try and catch it on demand it was very interesting. First up on my list of things to do this summer is visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. I know it’s sad I’ve been living in NJ my whole life and haven’t visited these two places. I think it’s necessary that we take advantage of landmarks right in our own backyard. Who’s guilty of not taking advantage of landmarks in their city. I would love…

    Graduation Day 2X

June was a very busy month for the Murray’s. I missed almost two weeks of posting because life got in the way but I say that in a positive way. June was the month my son ended his elementary/middle school journey. My daughter ended her elementary journey and will enter middle school in September. Naif will embark on a new phase of his life called High School. I am still processing this reality. At times I am in disbelief the fact that I have a fourteen year old, let alone I’m a mother of two. June 11, 2019 was a joyous day. To see my child walk down the aisle…

    Cherry Blossom Mini & Me

Hi guys spring is in the air, although some nights still feel like winter. I’m not going to complain because complaining is for suckers. Anyway this time of the year is particularly nice because all of the flowers are blooming and even though the weather isn’t just quite right yet we know it’s going to get better. In other news down the street from where I live there’s a beautiful Cherry Blossom tree. Every year I manage to find my way in front of my neighbor’s yard to snap some wonderful pictures. This year our outfits from Target blended in extremely well with the scenery. I’m having so much fun…

    Our version of LOVE!

It all started in 2001 at a house warming where Sadiq and I met. Sadiq wasn’t quite invited but aimlessly ended up there that afternoon. He was in the neighborhood visiting a friend and they decided to join in on the festivities. The housewarming was held outside, so no they didn’t just randomly walk into someone’s home (weird). I don’t remember how Sadiq and I started talking but I guess you can say the rest is history. Without going into details Sadiq and I took a short break then rekindled our relationship in 2004. We spoke one day after Jumah (prayer service). He invited me to his office on Wall…

To Be or Not To Be My Birthday is The Question?

You are probably asking yourself, “Why is it a question whether or not it’s her birthday, or doesn’t this woman know when she was born.” Well let me share my story. January 24 is the day I celebrate my birthday, at least I believe I was actually born on that day. My mother shared with me years ago that my father was convinced I was born on the 25th. However, I don’t have any recollection so I guess it’s up for debate. My father told me that he was overwhelmed and not quite ready for my arrival when my mother went into labor. So his memory may not have been…
