Sag Harbor Restaurants
Happy Summer!! With just about all of the Covid 19 restrictions being lifted it’s time for fun in the sun. This July 4th we decided to visit Sag Harbor for the holiday weekend. During our stay we visited a few Sag Harbor Restaurants which I will share in this blog post. I love a great place to eat I guess it’s safe to say I’m a foodie. I typically go off of word of mouth recommendations. But when you don’t have suggestions from others it’s always safe to go to places that have a long line of people waiting. It’s usually a sign of a popular place. Places to eat…

Camping and hiking trip the Appalachian Trail
In April 2019 when we visited my son’s school for a tour we learned that one of the graduation requirements is completing a camping and hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail. I immediately wanted to leave the tour. Five days in the forest camping in tents and hiking 50 miles where bears live no way! Many questions were being asked and little did we know the pandemic would interrupt the trip the following year. In this post I’m going to share what we had to do to prepare for this camping and hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail. The Director was very clear about the boys fulfilling this requirement. No…

Georgia Aquarium and Coca-Cola World
Two weeks ago I visited Atlanta which was on my things to do for the summer list. I was originally scheduled to go in August but my brother planned his birthday brunch for September so there was a slight change of plans. I promised my daughter we would go to the Aquarium while we were there, I feel a little guilty for going without her but she’ll forgive me. We thought it would be too crowded going on the weekend but it actually wasn’t too bad. We woke up early to arrive around 11 a.m. If you purchase your tickets before 11 a.m. you are suppose to get a 10%…

The Murray’s Summer Getaway
For the past three years we have made it a tradition to visit Martha’s Vineyard. Growing up I’ve always heard of this place typically from The Kennedy’s and most recently The Obama’s visiting, I never thought it would be a destination I would fall in love with. My husband was invited to visit for the African American Film Festival week in August 2015. I contacted a co-worker because I knew she was from Massachusetts and her family had a home on the island. Jaz provided me with guidance on traveling to the island ….. Thanks Jaz!! It was right on point I found a hotel in Middleboro, checked the hotline…

3 Things I Would Like To Do This Summer
Hey guys I was watching NJTV this past weekend and there was a series of episodes called “10 that Changed America” which inspired my list of things to do this summer. You should try and catch it on demand it was very interesting. First up on my list of things to do this summer is visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. I know it’s sad I’ve been living in NJ my whole life and haven’t visited these two places. I think it’s necessary that we take advantage of landmarks right in our own backyard. Who’s guilty of not taking advantage of landmarks in their city. I would love…

Staycation Hoboken
This post is not sponsored all thoughts and opinions are my own. When was the last time you’ve been on a staycation? We typically like to change up the scenery every month or every other month. My children especially Sadiah (daughter) are always asking “Can we stay at a hotel.” I’ve been promising to take her by the new Hilton on Route 22 in Springfield NJ. She has a fascination with hotels. I tell you “Generation Z” have Champagne taste with a Snapple budget. I guess who is to blame, we created this mini. What can I say she has great taste! This past weekend my husband asked me if…

Road Tripping to Howard University
Have you ever planned a trip literally at the spur of the moment? I’m almost always down for a spontaneous trip. Except the one time when Naif (my son) was maybe one years old and Sadiq (my husband) wanted to fly to Chicago for the night and return the next day. I know it sound exciting! But I wasn’t quite down because Naif was with his g-d-mother and I couldn’t do it without giving advance notice (I chickened out). But what if our flight was delayed or something? Those were the thoughts that went through my big head. I didn’t want to take the risk! However when Naif was roughly…
