3 Things I Would Like To Do This Summer

Hey guys I was watching NJTV this past weekend and there was a series of episodes called “10 that Changed America” which inspired my list of things to do this summer. You should try and catch it on demand it was very interesting.

First up on my list of things to do this summer is visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. I know it’s sad I’ve been living in NJ my whole life and haven’t visited these two places. I think it’s necessary that we take advantage of landmarks right in our own backyard. Who’s guilty of not taking advantage of landmarks in their city. I would love to experience and learn about the history of many immigrants who traveled across thousands of miles of ocean water to get to NJ/NY. More importantly because pizza is one of America’s favorite food, mine too, we wouldn’t have amazing Italian cuisine as well as other cultural foods and eateries had Italian’s remained in Italy. 🇮🇹 🇮🇹 🇮🇹

My next stop is the Empire State Building in NYC. I’ve walked and drove passed this building plenty of times and only attempted to visit once. It was so impromptu when we arrived they were either too busy or closing I can’t quite remember. However, I would love travel to the top of the building and take in the breathtaking views of the city. There are so many places to visit in New York City I plan to enjoy some summer days in NYC. Maybe we’ll bump into each other while I’m there if you plan to visit too.

My last stop this summer is Atlanta, Georgia. I know it’s about 840 miles from New Jersey. I’ve been to Atlanta several times in my twenties and early thirties but I have failed to visit since my brother moved there eight years ago. I know I’m a bad bad sister …. This summer I’m planning to visit although he just asked me to visit for his birthday in September. Now I’m torn but I guess I can make the trip twice that’s the least I can do. I’ll figure it out while I’m there we are planning to visit the Coke-Cola factory and possibly the Aquarium. Atlanta is a fun and exciting city to visit. I use to go there to party, visit family, and attend the hair show with my bestie but those days are long over. I prefer small intimate home gatherings, brunching, and day parties at this stage of my life, Family, Food, & Fun Only!!

Well that’s it for my summer local travel wish list besides Atlanta. Hopefully I’ll be able to visit every place on my list. July is moving fast we are already halfway through the second week. Have you visited any of the places I mentioned above? Let me know about your experience in the comments. Do you recommend any places in NJ or NYC? Lets chat about it ……

Theres still stuff here in Florida I haven’t seen or visited even though I’ve lived here my whole life. Haha and maybe it’s a fun adventure to visit those things being older. And Atlanta, Georgia is amazing. I love it there!

Sounds like a really good plan. I am guilty of not visiting all interesting landmarks in my country. Your post inspired me to make a list of places I really want to visit for a long time. 💗 Have a wonderful summer, lovely! 💗

I was born in New York City and have not visited either of your first two on the list. How disappointing! Thanks for motivating me to work a lil harder so I can get to traveling soon!

You can never go wrong with pizza! I love that foreign culture has been infused with the states in the US. Ooooh, checking out the Empire State sounds exciting! I’ve been to the aquarium and coca cola world in Atlanta before – I highly recommend going to them! Sending you positive vibes!

Hi Nancy, Yes I love that we have so many options when deciding what to eat, it make it so much fun and sometimes difficult when your party can’t agree… lol Definitely going to take the recommendation and try to visit both places! Thanks for stopping by …Have a great week! xoxo

I’ve always wanted to go to Atlanta and see the aquarium! I hear they have the largest aquarium in the U.S.!! Plus, I think I watch RHOA too much because the show makes me want to try Kandi’s restaurant, The Old Lady Gang! Had no idea the Coca-Cola Factory was in Atlanta too, gonna have to suggest the ATL as another family vacay option <3

This is a good list! I live in Alabama so I have been to Atlanta a few times. I wish I could spend more time there. You’re the lucky one though! I would love to live in/near NYC!! It’s my dream vacation spot and maybe my dream to live there. It may be too much for me to live there though. I live in a small town so I am not used to the hectic city life.

    • Alghashiyah

Hi Noah!! love your name, yes NYC is so cool you must plan to visit one day soon! I would love to live in the city too but it’s extremely expensive unless you find something prob not so fabulous outside Manhattan. I don’t know if I could adjust to the traffic which can be horrible. But definitely somewhere I love to visit it’s truly the city that never sleeps! I hope you get to travel soon. Thanks for reading xoxo
