It was a Celebration
Last week The Murray’s celebrated their Princess Sadiah’s 10th Birthday a wonderful milestone. I can’t believe 10 years have gone by so fast. I remember my sister and I struggling to secure her in the car seat at the hospital. It took us about 20 minutes, we were sweating it was insane. Now my sister she had an excuse because she hadn’t dealt with a car seat in about 18 years, me on the other hand it had only been 4 years. After what felt like a hour we finally figured out we had to slant the buckle into the slot …. Rocket Scientist!! My brother of course was clueless because he doesn’t have children, his only job was to make sure he had my food from Brooklyn (Oxtails, Mac & Cheese, and Potato Salad).
I was in Awe to bring Sadiah home, my mom was waiting at my house to help us, although I wish I had asked her to stay for two weeks because that c-section kicked my butt. It took me literally 15 minutes to get out the bed to use the restroom. I tried to thug it out and not take my meds but BABY I had to surrender. My brother my right hand stayed with me the second week to help out after my mother left. A woman’s strength is amazing what we endure carrying and giving birth, no wonder the phrase “I brought into this world I’ll take you out,” or how we will go to bat for our children, I truly get it now.
Back to the regular program …. My only fear with bringing Sadiah home was will she sleep through the night. I had anticipated her waking up at 2 or 3 a.m. but she was a trooper she slept until 6 a.m. I was in heaven! Because I struggled with this pregnancy from being on bedrest for 5 months and having a cervical cerclage, I remember my father telling me she’s not going to give you any problems. And he was right she is a true blessing. So when it was time to plan her birthday party I let her take the lead. We gave her exactly what she asked for well except for the iPhone X. Air pods made the cut instead, a hotel sleepover with her friends and a fun day at Six Flags Great Adventure.
That’s all folks until next year! My baby girl is officially in the double digits. I hope you enjoyed the pics! Sorry they ate all the cupcakes otherwise we would have shared …. Have a wonderful weekend! Be Kind
