How to Dress Casual and Comfy this Summer
Hey guys I’m sharing three looks on the blog today that will keep me cool, casual, and comfortable this summer. When you think of sneakers what do you think of? Hmm … probably jeans, shorts, leggings, sweatpants or some kind of sporty outfit? Nope!! Most people immediately think of the apparel I’ve mentioned above to pair with their kicks, but think again sneakers are so trendy they can make the cutest outfit look so chic you won’t think twice about picking up those heels, especially if what you’re doing involves walking which we typically tend to do more of in the summer.

This 1st look is super cool and comfortable. I love graphic tees so I purchased this iconic tee (Black Women Mean Business) from chicshirtshop.com This tee spoke to me and reminded me how I was raised by a strong African American mother who was amazing and always meant business. I love supporting empowering women owned shops.
This free flowing eyelet skirt is super comfortable and doesn’t restrict movement plus … BONUS has pockets where I can store my phone or cash. My converses believe it or not are undeniably comfortable which I was pleasantly surprised because I inherited another pair from my mother that were not so easy on the feet. I was uber excited because I love the color and how it adds a pop of fun to the basic black and white look. I previously wore this skirt with my strapless striped bathing suit on the beach. It’s a very versatile piece you can dress up or down.

My 2nd look I added another graphic t-shirt which I love “Summer Fridays” with a pair of sailor inspired pants and teal green chucks. Yep I love these chucks they basically go with my whole wardrobe. No I’m kidding but I’ll put them on with just about anything because I’m a risk taker and fashion is supposed to let you be creatively free.

Although I purchased these pants sometime ago 2yrs to be exact the color and button details are classic. I love the length of pants and how you can rock them with just a plain t-shirt or a peplum blouse which is how I styled them the first time. My last and final look (there goes those chucks again) …lol I’m loving everything bows and jumpsuits this year well really like every year. Honestly I didn’t intend for my wardrobe to have all these bows but a girl obviously can’t resist. I really think the fairy fashion goddess knows what I like and keep having the designers create these lovely pieces.
This Who What Wear jumpsuit from Target is everything. When I spotted it on the clearance rack I almost passed up on it but I knew I would regret it later like how I regret not picking up those white slides but that’s for another conversation. Any-who I love this safari inspired piece. The color, pocket detail, and belt which I can tie into the cutest bow. The material is cotton/polyester mix which feels good on the skin and it’s easy to move in. I wish I could link this item but I’m sure it’s sold out. I love all the looks for Summer Comfy dressing!! I just went shopping at Willowbrook Mall…I branched out a bit and left my comfort zone clothing in the store as I purchased things that is not me but will become me..

I am so loving this. Ghay you know I love your fashion, it is similar to mine, but you are willing to take more risks and always turn out super cute. It was funny to read Yvonne”s post because just the other day I was shopping and purchased a pair of cute, comfy, tommy sneakers. I must have picked them up and put them down at least 10 times saying no this isn’t me. Then i threw them in the cart saying I’m going to make them me. Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone can be a little scary, but it may very well turn out to be your best look. Now, I just need to figure out what to wear with them LOL.
I love the way you mixed and matched your pieces giving yourself more outfits for Less. You look great in each photo! That’s what I call smart shopping😊.

Just like her, your style and sense of fashion is effortless.
It’s really cool and fun how all of the pieces are interchangeable with other clothing you own and they all go so well with the infamous chucks.
My mission this summer is to find a perfect pair of sneakers that will go well with mostly everything I own, like your chucks. I’ve been known to buy specific sneakers for a specific outfit, which can be extremely exhausting & costly. I wanna be relaxed, comfortable, carefree & effortless with my footwear this season. I’m not too fond of chucks, so I maybe leaning towards a pair of Vans.
